BrainSound · The journey

The BrainSound method

A guided journey through body, breath and original music.

01 / The origin of the method

A JOURNEY FROM BODY TO BRAIN

Conceived and developed by researcher and composer Caterina Forte, BrainSound grew out of more than six years of research and development.

The method combines original music, bodily instructions inspired by the Feldenkrais® method, and attention to the breath through cardiac coherence. The listening takes place in the absence of visual stimuli, leaving space for the sensations and mental images of each person.

An evocative journey that takes shape in the listener.

02 / The experience

BrainSound

BrainSound is a method of somato-acoustic education and integration designed to support theself-regulation of the autonomic nervous system.

It is more than passive music listening: it is a process of stress relief and biological rebalancing.

Through original music composed specifically with certain frequencies, the method acts directly on brain structures and the nervous system, changing brainwaves and offering an effective tool for reducing anxiety and processing trauma rooted in bodily memory.

03 / Perception

The benefits of listening to music

Neuroscience research has widely demonstrated that music is the most powerful regulator of brain activity and human emotional states.

Listening to structured sound activates not only the auditory cortex but also widespread neural networks involved in emotion, memory and motor coordination.

When body and mind resonate with targeted acoustic frequencies, cortisol levels (the stress hormone) decrease immediately and the production of well-being neurotransmitters such as dopamine and endorphins is stimulated, initiating a profound process of healing and relaxation.

Each listening experience
takes on a
personal form.

04 / Approach and research

A method that brings together
sensitivity and observation.

Music is lived.
The experience is observed.

The approach

A preparation that gives space for listening

Body and respiratory cues prepare a context of attention before listening to the original compositions. Movement, breathing, and music become part of a unified guided experience.

The research

Observing the experience over time

Developed by Caterina Forte over more than six years, BrainSound includes measurements before and after sessions. Physiological indicators and participants’ reported perceptions offer two distinct perspectives for the research journey.
